In the meantime HP had offered updates which also failed and he ended up uninstalling the printer software then reinstalling. Would it just be better to re-install the operating system? I have the exact same problem with the same 12 updates. Thanks, Matt All my failed updates are either for net framework 3.5 or 4.0 even with SP2 on this pc. It shows I have 12 important updates, 3 for .net framework, 8 for Windows Office 2007 & 1 for Microsoft Silverlight.
