I did however confirm that my internet sharing was disabled which didn't help (I'd already tried repairing permissions and restarting) but then I stopped Personal File Sharing, Personal Web Sharing and After using the above command, the Cisco VPN Client should run without any problems—at least until the next time the problem occurs.
